Short Description

A masterpiece of Qing Dynasty imperial famille rose and gold enamel craft, this 2-piece art porcelain set includes a scalloped-rim tea cup (Ø6cm × H7cm) and a matching lobed rim saucer (Ø14cm × H2.5cm). Adorned with hand-painted purple peacock feather motifs and gold beaded patterns (symbolizing "nobility and good fortune"), it embodies "Rococo luxury and Oriental refinement"—crafted with rigorous multi-step firing and hair-thin gold detailing, making it a museum-grade collectible for art appreciation and elegant tea ceremonies.

Appearance & Style

  • Elegant Cup Silhouette: Scalloped-rim, waisted bulbous body (H7cm × Width 7cm), flared rim (Ø6cm diameter), low foot (Base Width 4cm), paired with a delicate scrolled handle—blending Chinese literati grace and Western ergonomic comfort
  • Lobed Rim Saucer: Floral (camellia/Qinghua) shaped rim saucer (Ø14cm × H2.5cm) with recessed center for stable cup placement, mirroring the cup’s ornate gold and purple decoration
  • Luminous White Porcelain: Smooth, translucent white porcelain base that amplifies the lavish 24K pure gold gilding and vibrant purple peacock feather hues, creating a striking contrast of white, gold, and purple
  • Sino-Western Rococo Aesthetic: Fusion of Chinese famille rose (enamel) gold work and European Rococo beaded motifs, embodying timeless Oriental opulence and Western courtly elegance
  • Auspicious Symbolism: Peacock feather motifs represent "nobility, beauty and good fortune"; gold beaded patterns symbolize "endless wealth and prosperity"—ideal for wedding, housewarming, and high-end gifting

Craftsmanship

  • Hand-Thrown & High-Temperature Bisque Firing: Jingdezhen kaolin clay is hand-thrown into the cup and saucer forms, meticulously trimmed to the 6cm rim and 14cm saucer diameter. The raw clay undergoes 1280℃ high-temperature bisque firing to form a dense, jade-like white porcelain base with a smooth, luminous finish
  • High-Temperature Glaze Firing: After bisque firing, a transparent glaze is applied to the entire outer surface, followed by a second high-temperature firing at 1300℃ to create a durable, glossy glaze layer
  • Famille Rose & Gold Enamel Hand-Painting: Master artisans use hair-thin brushes to hand-paint peacock feather, beaded, and geometric motifs. The color separation & layered dyeing technique is applied, with 3–5 layers of subtle shading. 24K pure gold is inlaid along all edges and decorative bands for a luxurious luster
  • 4-Step Firing Process: After painting, the set undergoes 2 separate low-temperature firings at 780℃~820℃ to set the famille rose pigments. This is followed by a third low-temperature firing at 600℃~700℃ to secure the gold gilding. A final quality-control firing ensures all layers are locked permanently, resulting in fade-resistant, scratch-resistant color and brilliant gold luster
  • Low Yield Rate: The ultra-fine hand-painting and multi-temperature firing demand extreme precision, resulting in a final yield rate of only 25%~30%—each set is a rare, handcrafted collectible art piece
