Appearance & Style
- Elegant Cup Silhouette: Compact cylindrical body (H6cm × Width 5.5cm), straight rim (Ø6cm diameter), paired with a delicate curved handle—blending Chinese literati grace and ergonomic comfort
- Round Saucer: Matching round saucer (Ø12cm × H2.5cm) with recessed center for stable cup placement, mirroring the cup’s lotus and pond motifs for a cohesive look
- Luminous Coral Red Glaze: Deep, glossy coral red glaze base that amplifies the warm white and gold lotus motifs, creating a striking contrast of red and white
- Qing Imperial Court Aesthetic: Fusion of coral red (imperial enamel) craft and traditional Chinese lotus painting, embodying timeless Oriental charm and understated refinement
- Auspicious Symbolism: Lotus represents "purity, enlightenment and prosperity"; pond motifs symbolize "harmony and abundance"—ideal for wedding, housewarming, and celebratory gifting
Craftsmanship
- Hand-Thrown & High-Temperature Bisque Firing: Jingdezhen kaolin clay is hand-thrown into the cup and saucer forms, meticulously trimmed to the 6cm rim and 12cm saucer diameter. The raw clay undergoes 1280℃ high-temperature bisque firing to form a dense, jade-like white porcelain base with a smooth, luminous finish
- High-Temperature Coral Red Glaze Firing: After bisque firing, a uniform coral red glaze is applied to the entire outer surface, followed by a second high-temperature firing at 1300℃ to create a durable, glossy deep red glaze layer
- Famille Rose Hand-Painting & Gradient Shading: Master artisans use hair-thin brushes to hand-paint lotus, seed pod, and pond foliage motifs. The color separation & layered dyeing technique is applied, with 3–5 layers of subtle shading to render lifelike petal veins, leaf texture, and seed pod details
- 4-Step Firing Process: After painting, the set undergoes 2 separate low-temperature firings at 780℃~820℃ to set the famille rose pigments. This is followed by hand-applied 24K pure gold gilding on the rim, then a third low-temperature firing at 600℃~700℃ to secure the gilding. A final quality-control firing ensures all layers are locked permanently, resulting in fade-resistant, scratch-resistant color and luster
- Low Yield Rate: The ultra-fine hand-painting and multi-temperature firing demand extreme precision, resulting in a final yield rate of only 25%~30%—each set is a rare, handcrafted collectible
